Marie Cropp - Talk

MARIRE CROPP

Marie Cropp came in a to talk to our class about publishing and creating a book, in her final year of university, Cropp designed and pub listed her book surrounding the female present in the food industry, tittles “Garsig”. While this talk was not the traditional lecture we not ally have, it was really helpful to talk to a graduate student who (just one year previous) was in our shoes completing the same projects. She told me the importance of image and text on the page, and how if I don’t have help from a graphic designer, the images can. This inspired me to get in contact with graduate student Oscar Liddiard to help me curate this significant image / text relationship. This relationship with Oscar grew weekly, and his input really help my project reach a higher potential.

I honestly think if I had not attended this talk with the brilliant Marie, I would not have contacted Oscar, thus getting a lower grade overall.
