I have already done a blog post for my top albums of the year, however I want to dive in further and talk about songs that really hit home for me.
l will start this list with “Making Weight” from Casey’s album “Where I Go When I Am Sleeping”. Tom’s voice and the melodic guitar match beautifully together, with Weaver describing his battles with physical and mental pains.
The story told in “Autumn” of “The American Dream” by John is a perfect start to an album that transitions Trophy Eyes from a punk rock to a more pop sound.
The best song from “Everything is Temporary” is “Dakota”. Shit slaps. Pure pop punk
“Monument” from Counterpart’s EP “Private room’ is their best to date. I would love to see them on a headline tour.
“Upside Down” is a complete change of pace from earlier The Story So Far songs, well so is the whole album “Proper Dose”. Instead of angry finger pointing, the whole crowd can now angrily sway side to side.
I can’t pick my top song, I can barely pick my favourite album. I go through phases, right now I'm into Beartooth, last week was Counterparts, and i’m sure when I see arctics next February ill be really into them. As of right now, (28th November) my top most listened to song is “Clever” from Beartooth as it really relates to my current situation.
